As I talk with CTOs and engineering leaders, I’m constantly reminded that managing data across distributed teams isn’t just a technical challenge—it’s fundamentally about enabling people to work together effectively, wherever they are and wherever their data is stored.

In 2024, the “wherever” has been increasingly distributed on new storage platforms, sometimes separated by great geographic lengths from employees and systems that consume or access the data.

That’s why I’m particularly proud of what our team has accomplished this year. We have enhanced our core platform with faster data movement and helped our customers reduce their dependence on costly legacy hardware while bringing their systems, people, and files closer to get work done quickly.

The Growing Challenge of Enterprise Data

Our customers are facing unprecedented challenges in managing their data infrastructure.

The massive growth in data volume, combined with increasingly complex hybrid environments, has made traditional point-to-point data replication and automation systems obsolete.

With data residing across multiple locations—from on-premises data centers to cloud environments and remote edge locations—businesses need a more sophisticated approach to ensure seamless access and efficient data flow.

Introducing Active Everywhere

Resilio Active Everywhere is an all-in-one platform purpose-built to deliver active, current, and accessible file data everywhere. From hybrid work to hybrid cloud, your employees gain easy and unified access to files wherever they are stored—in a data center, in the cloud, or on edge networks—across any distance.

Earlier this year, we unveiled the Resilio Active Everywhere Platform, our most significant advancement in distributed data automation and file caching for hybrid infrastructure. This platform represents more than an upgrade—it’s a new vision for how enterprises can manage, access, and activate their data across any location or infrastructure.

Active Everywhere delivers something unique: an all-in-one software solution that makes file data active, current, and accessible anywhere work gets done on any storage system—from data centers to cloud environments to edge networks.

A Modern Approach to Distributed Teams and Storage

We haven’t slowed since the award-winning introduction of Active Everywhere in April. IT teams are quickly building fast and resilient systems on the platform and using our latest innovations to bring systems, people, and files closer together.

Global File System Evolution

Our global file systems (GFS) solution combines the flexibility of peer-to-peer architecture with enterprise-grade management features. This approach provides a unified, high-performance software-only solution for accessing and managing data across distributed locations while significantly reducing IT costs and complexity.

Distributed File Locking with Unmatched Performance

We recently introduced a modern approach to file locking that keeps lock information always available on each server and caching gateway. Resilio issues file locks almost instantly, propagating within a few seconds for performance 10 to 100 times faster than legacy solutions. This breakthrough enables offline support and seamless collaboration across distributed teams, something that’s been a persistent challenge in hybrid and distributed work environments. Kirby-Smith Machinery, a leading distributor of construction heavy equipment, recently upgraded to Resilio Active Everywhere to support distributed file locking across multiple offices. “After checking out other programs, Resilio was the one I trusted to do file locking and data replication,” said data center manager Gary Bush. “It is a program I did not have to spend hours training and instructing my employees.”

Advanced Cloud Bursting Capabilities

Burst-to-cloud offers significant advantages by enabling businesses to dynamically scale their IT resources to meet fluctuating demands without substantial on-premises investments. Active Everywhere customers are leveraging the elasticity of cloud services, ensuring they can handle peak loads efficiently while maintaining cost-effectiveness. By utilizing burst-to-cloud, organizations can achieve greater operational flexibility, improve application performance during high-demand periods, and enhance overall business agility, all while minimizing infrastructure costs and complexities.

The impact of these innovations is already evident across various industries.

Real-World Impact

With 3,400 employees across 75 offices on six continents, scale is just as crucial for Infobip’s business as it is for its customers.

By using the Resilio Active Everywhere platform to synchronize mission-critical files across 40+ data centers around the world, Infobip delivers superb platform availability, meeting the highest standard in the global mobile services industry.

Resilio played a pivotal role in enabling Infobip, a global leader in omnichannel communication, to meet the most rigorous uptime requirements set by the SLAs of its largest customers. With over 50 active agents running on the Active Everywhere Platform, Infobip transfers nearly 2 TBs per day, depending on the job, and has successfully transferred almost 900 terabytes of data so far. Without extensive coordination, the Infobip infrastructure team can easily adjust their workflows, speeds, and bandwidth based on timeframe, location, and country regulations. They can efficiently distribute or synchronize updates among multiple jobs between data centers and replicate and sync large files at lightning speed—even in areas with poor and unreliable connections or limited bandwidth.

Resilio Active Everywhere works in the cloud, on-premises, and on edge devices to deliver active, current, and accessible file data everywhere. Dar now has easy and unified access to files wherever they’re stored—across any distance.

Implementing Resilio Active Everywhere had a transformative impact on Dar, one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary engineering consulting organizations. Delays are a thing of the past, as Dar’s engineers now receive the business files (mainly Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Office files, large PDF files, and maps) they need—right when they need them. Wait times that took hours are now reduced to literary minutes with rapid file transfers. Naturally, with delays no longer slowing them down, the Dar engineering teams can easily collaborate and focus less on IT issues and more on completing their project deliverables. With faster data replication and access, Dar can now more reliably meet project deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards. These results have led to a direct improvement in how Dar conducts business with its clients. “As an engineering consultant, we price our end product based on the number of hours it takes our engineers to work on a given project,” said Mohammad Badran, infrastructure and cloud systems manager at Dar. “Before Resilio, our engineers could be waiting hours for files to get replicated across offices, which put our ability to meet project deadlines at risk.”

Looking Ahead

As we continue through 2025, the team remains committed to solving the most challenging aspects of enterprise data management. We understand that data isn’t just growing in volume—it’s growing in importance. The ability to move, access, and utilize data efficiently is becoming a critical differentiator for our customers’ success.

In dire circumstances, no emergency response team should have to struggle with poor connectivity when they need it most. RadioMobile’s mission is to provide the safest and most reliable technology that helps firefighters, emergency medical services (EMS), and other first responders save lives and property.

Fire and EMS responders need access to the most up-to-date software and data files. Still, the dynamic, time-sensitive nature of their critical work can make providing necessary IT support challenging. Emergency vehicles are distributed across many locations, and moving large files over unreliable networks is difficult. To effectively serve government agencies and public safety organizations, RadioMobile must be able to investigate technical issues in the field and collect log files remotely from a moving vehicle. Transferring data to and from any location is critical for maintaining resilient, continuous operations. They needed a platform that could disseminate tremendous amounts of data in real-time, and they needed one fast—which led RadioMobile to Resilio.

Resilio Active Everywhere serves as the backbone of RadioMobile’s IQ OTA system. This system integrates seamlessly with RadioMobile’s ruggedized, in-vehicle mobile data computers (MDCs) and IQ Mobile Software for MDCs to create a complete mobile data communication solution for fire and EMS agencies. With Resilio, RadioMobile’s IQ OTA can securely deliver massive amounts of data to hundreds of MDCs deployed across a vast geography—even over unreliable networks. RadioMobile’s chief technology officer, Petr Peterka, notes: “We have received nothing but positive feedback from our customers. Our mission is to make the jobs of first responders easier, and Resilio is the platform that makes that magic happen.”

Our commitment doesn’t end with the development of mission-critical technology solutions.

G2 recently recognized our passion for building long-lasting personal relationships, ranking Resilio as a Leader in their Winter 2025 Mid-Market Grid® Report for Cloud File Storage.

Creative agency Mr. Wolf produces some of the world’s most loved and watched TV and film content. “The support team is fantastic,” creative director Danny Yoon recently noted in his G2 review. “I’ve had direct access to the developers and engineers who are very patient and knowledgeable. They even wrote me a special build of their software to facilitate our pipeline needs. The fact that I was able to talk to the devs directly and that the support team responded right away to make sure issues were resolved is what makes Resilio worth it.”

Our vision is clear: to ensure that every organization, regardless of size or infrastructure decisions, can make their data active and accessible everywhere. As AI and other data-intensive technologies evolve, the need for efficient, reliable data management will only grow more crucial.
